I wish I can be sorry that Robert McNamara passed recently, but he was responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of young men and thousands more innocent civilians in Vietnam.

If you want to know what I am talking about, rent the documentary "Fog of War".
Incredible how he talks in circles and puts on a phony crying act when he talks about the self immolation of Norman Morrison (a Quaker activist) outside his office at the Pentagon.

That is all I have to say about that!

I remember watching 'Fog of War' a few years ago, armitagenlowell, so I know what you are talking about. I remembered McNamara saying that he thought the Vietman War was an extension of the Cold War, when in fact it was a civil war.

Hands up if any of you remember (as I do) Buster's ads promoting his line of swimming pools for use in the home.

@VintageCanada - It goes about 6 minutes more or so before the tape ran out. I knew it had to be getting close to the next break, but sadly, it never made it.

How much more of the movie continued to run after the break until it got cut off?

Tragic what happened to Vic Morrow back in 1982. Was an army helicopter really necessary?

Ah, the days when top-flight films were run on local TV stations via lo-res 16mm prints. (And how the focus was on some stations, you'd think they had Super 8 prints.)

Ok, I've been singing the paper towel song all weekend and have had to fight off urges to dance around in my kitchen and unravel the towel roll. This commercial should have its own video by itself.

The woman in the Handi Wipes ad looks familiar. Very entertaining ad! I wonder how many kids pulled paper towels across the kitchen after seeing it?

ChitownTVFan: It is Beethoven's "Fur Elise" but in a "Hooked On Classics" version.

The music for the drawing sounds familiar, what's it called?

I bet this is not the first time the machines like the one for Ca$h 5 causes technical problems, because during the news on Channel 2, they did a story about the lottery drawing snafu.

Thanks, W.B. That was just a typo. :-)
